Nestled into an open brownfield, the school features a wide glass roof that follows the orientation of the southern sun, ensuring optimal natural light and energy efficiency. Drawing inspiration from the nearby parks, Sherwood School incorporates patterns and textures reflective of its environment, while proudly showcasing its timber structural system.
Designed with a profound connection to nature in mind, the school is strategically positioned to maximise student interaction with the natural world. It gracefully fits in the green open space, utilising its topography to create a dynamic layout. The architectural arrangement consists of three parallel multifunctional classrooms linked to learning laboratories by a spacious commons area, fostering a sense of community and facilitating collaborative learning environments
